From a beach on the Atlantic...

I am spending some gorgeous  days at the beach with family. The weather is sunny and warm.
I am reading White Teeth by Zadie Smith. Having a hard time getting into the story.
Listening to The Last American Vampire by Seth Grahame-Smith. I love the narrator's voice. The story is a little gory by so good. Still recovering from The Shipping News...
Watched Love, the Coopers with my daughter. I know it got bad reviews but I really liked it. Not deep but dysfunctional in a warm fuzzy way. Attended a girl's flag football game and lunched with my hubby. Walking Izzy every day.
Sixties beach songs are surfacing from the depths of my sixty something brain. Little Surfer, Ride the Wild Surf, Jan and Dean, Beach Boys and their Good Vibrations.
"These homes of love we build, house many rooms, sanded and painted in the shades and colors of our life, furnished with those moments that, however inconsequential they may seem to others, have in fact, defined us. --Annie Proulx, The Shipping News
I love this. Also by Proulx, " And it may be that love sometimes occurs without pain or misery."
