Faith Bass Darling's Last Garage Sale...

When you are 6 and have no front teeth, and none in sight a birthday is a celebration to cheer!

That book Faith's Last Garage Sale was great. A story of a woman's slide into Alzheimer's disease. It sounded like it was going to be a romp, funny. It was entertaining. But heartbreaking and painful. An estranged daughter, dead son, cruel husband and the loss of her God and possessions were all included in her journey into forgetfulness. Definitely a recommended read.

Let it snow...

One more pic!

More snow on the really old (1894) porch...

Snow storm warnings again. I need to write a letter to someone out there. Spring is a few days away. I need a break. More winter then we have had in years. Ice, slush, cold. We can't even get into our camp because of the deep snow. A little warmth and some melting snow would be lovely.

Upper Peninsula...

I am of the age where I read the AARP magazine and I like it. So today when I read an apology from them for omitting the U.P. of Michigan from map printed last month of the U.S.A. it made me think of where I live. An unspoiled forested land  of lakes and sandy beaches. Life is easy here. Little traffic or crime. Our grandkids sled, snowshoe and build snowmen in winter. Kayak, swim and hike in summer. It is not a bad thing that we have not yet been discovered by the rest of the world.
