Picture-Day 3 Melbourne Zoo grands with Mothers, Granny and cousin in from Philadelphia School of the Arts.Sand sculpture of octopus in the background. A senior volunteer took the pic so I could be in the shot.
Journey to 65th birthday. I watched Moonstruck last night. 1987 with Cher and Nicholas Cage. I loved it. I don't watch many movies. This was so romantic. They were so young. We are all so much older now.
I am reading This is Your Life, Harriet Chance! by Jonathan Evison. It is such an awful realization of a life poorly lived. Not what I was expecting at all. Harriet's life has not gone the way she wanted it to. As a result she made life miserable for her daughter and for herself. I am hoping for a redeeming anything to come in the pages ahead.

Up all night on the porch...
I started The Silver Lining's Playbook by Matthew Quick and could not stop reading. Powerful writing that punched me in the gut. I felt what this man felt. It really hurt. Thank God for silver linings...
I am in the spare room bed with my two giggly youngest of the grand girls. They are sleeping head to toe. All night they laughed at eachother. The six year old would cross her eyes to make the three year giggle. The baby kept saying "Hide, a bugler is coming" so they could dive under the covers in giggly fear. Life is good for this grandmother...

Blue chair...
This little blue rocker has seen better days...It spent a little time in the family room then the playroom on the porch. Now it sits in the backyard. I watched the Grands push eachother in it on the homemade ice rink.
I do love an old chair...

Muddy little footprints on my heart...
I won a "six word saturday" on a favorite blog of mine The One Minute Writer. I wrote those six words after spending a soggy weekend at camp with grandkids. Even though it rained and was wet and muddy the kids played outside and had so much fun... leaving muddy little footprints on my heart.
I baked an Aslan cake and my delicious coconut cupcakes for an 8 year old birthday party on Sunday. Papa and Granny (me) are waiting anxiously for our Texas grands to arrive any minute for a month on our cool (48 degree) porch. They left 96 degrees behind and their house and city. Our middle daughter and family are moving to a new town in Texas when they go back. Good thing they are young we say...
